Peace Dialogue: Nonviolence and The Beloved Community
October 17, 2019 @ 11:30 am - 1:30 pm EDT

Dialogue participants will be invited to reflect on the following:
“The core value of The Beloved Community, “understanding, redeeming goodwill for all,” does not begin by discriminating between worthy and unworthy people. It begins by loving others for their sakes and makes no distinction between friend and enemy. It seeks to preserve and create community, a community where resources are distributed more evenly and all are embraced. That said, The Beloved Community isn’t devoid of conflict. Conflict and difference are natural parts of life. And conflicts can be resolved peacefully and adversaries can be reconciled when there was a commitment to nonviolence.”
